Subscription pricing does not suit everyone. What I Don’t Like: Not available for Windows. ![]() Library syncs your work to all your devices. Helpful tools stay out of the way until needed. What I Like: Streamlined interface keeps you writing once you start. But if you’re a serious Mac-based writer after an effective tool, give it a go. It’s not the only option out there, and if you use Windows, avoid subscriptions, or despise Markdown, one of the other apps will suit you better. It helps me to stay focused on my writing tasks better than other apps, and I’ve come to appreciate and rely on the combination of a minimal interface, the use of Markdown, the ability to use a number of sheets to rearrange an article, and excellent library and publishing features. Personally, over the last five years, I’ve found the app to be an effective writing tool, and it has become my favorite. Ulysses has all the features to take you from beginning to end and does so in a way that is pleasurable and focused. Writing is a multi-faceted process that includes brainstorming, research, writing, revision, editing, and publishing. ![]()
